Dublin Core

Title

Delmer Goode Oral History Interview (4 of 7)

Description

In this fourth interview from Delmer Goode, he discusses why he pursued his graduate degree twenty years after he earned his undergraduate degree. During the time of a unified catalog, he became looked upon as somewhat of an authority curriculum he concluded he needed the education to back this new role. Simultaneously, he served on a curriculum committee, first as the secretary and later as its Chairman.

A highlight from this interview includes the efforts and dealings involved in establishing school curriculum during the OSC and U of O unification process. Goode later reflects on how George Peavy came to be president of OSC. He also describes his take on Peavy as an individual and gives his impressions of Peavy’s family. Other anecdotes follow, including Goode’s involvement in Phi Kappa Phi and the formation of Corvallis’s scout Troop No. 1.
