Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists 90 Nassau Street Princeton, New Jersey

Dear sirs:

Within the next few days I will begin mailing about 50 personal letters to Secretaries of Christian Social Relations of the Wesleyan Service Guild which is the organization for employed women of the Methodist church.
I wonder whether you would care to send me 50 copies of "The Last Hour Before Midnight" or if that is not possible, the "Statement by the Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists." It is my feeling that I can include a statement of personal emphasis asking the secretaries to respond or to pass the enclosures to one of their local groups for such response. I would even like to suggest that some society make that their "project" for the next two months and to inform all local societies within their area of the urgency.
Because I work without a secretary and because the nature of the next mailing calls for replies it will be done slowly but systematically. Geographically the groups which this mailing will cover will be the north central states, western, and south western.
The work of this Department is broad but I am convinced that we have one focus now and that is peace, and means to peace, and I am bending every effort during the next six months to that effort.
                                             Sincerely yours,
                                               Marjory A. Poole
                                          (Mrs. Frederick G.)

Please send these to my home address and not to the New York offices.

                                  Marjory Poole
