THE WOMEN'S ZIONIST
ORGANIZATION OF AMERICA, INC.
Hadassah 1819 BROADWAY • NEW YORK 23, N.Y. TELEPHONE: COLUMBUS 5.6585
January 12, 1948
Mr. Albert Einstein, Chairman Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists 90 Nassau Street, Room 28 Princeton, N. J.
Dear Mr. Einstein:
I am acknowledging receipt of your letter of November 25th.
Need I tell you how vitally interested we are in the question of atomic energy and the use to which it should be put for the enrichment, and not destruction, of mankind.
Hadassah as an organization has no funds which it is permitted to use for any other purpose but that for which we have been organized - the support of medical and youth services in Palestine. We cannot, therefore, allocate any funds to you. However, we will publicize your letter to individuals in our ranks, urging them to help your worthy organization in carrying on its work.
Sincerely yours, Mrs. Joseph Hamerman, Chairman National American Affairs Committee
