33 Cleremont Ave New Brunswick, N.J. June 19, 1948

Mr Albert Einstein, Chrm Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists, Inc 118 Nassau St, Princeton, N.J.

Dear Mr Einstein:

I am in complete agreement with the statements of your committee made in your letter of June 12 and in the hand bill "A Policy for Survival."
The third policy outlined - a drive for world government is the logical answer to the struggle between East and West. We may as well be resigned to secret diplomacy since there has never been any other - except in a partial sense as democracies have at times attained it. If our statesmen can be unhampered to continue to strive for an improved international body (U.N. or former League of Nations) at the same time they work for at least a bloodless struggle with the forces that to us see anti-democratic then there may be real hope of averting another war in which atomic energy certainly will be used.
