history

1 July, 1946 Dr. A. Einstein Room 28, 1st Ntl Bank Bldg., 90 Nassau Street, Princeton, N.J.

Dear Dr. Einstein:

I read with a great deal of interest your interview in the New York Times Magazine, copy of which was sent to me by Mr. Oram. I admire the enthusiasm with which you and other scientists are approaching the problem of the control of the atom as used for military purposes.

There is an increasing awareness among the common people of the earth that imperialism and the suppression of minorities must be eliminated from the world before war and the implements of war can be abolished. A part of our thinking could be directed to that end in England, Belgium, France, Holland, and yes, even in the United States.

More power to you:

Very sincerely, Wm. C. Rempfer
