Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists Princeton, N.J. My dear friend Einstein:

Thank you for the friendly letter sent to me in regards the critical situation that humankind is faced today.
I don't think that there is any man more happy than I in seeing the place taken by the men of science and education like you in trying to save humanrace from beasts in human form.
Humanity has suffered too much all ready in this War --and we must stop further distruction. For this fight to lick I stand by your side to death.
At present time I send $25.00 for this glorious cause. I hope to hear from you again.
  Sincerely yours, Leo Poll
