MAY 2 RECD
Temple Israel 1602 So. Rockford Avenue Tulsa 5, Oklahoma
April 30, 1947
My dear Miss Ray: I was very happy to hear from you, and to receive the message from Professor Einstein. I am enclosing a very humble check toward your work. Regretfully I am in no position to give more; my own income is rather meager. Perhaps in place of financial help, I can render service with my god-given faculty of speech. You may tell the group that I am moving heaven and earth to bring the atomic story to this rather primitive section of the nation. Beginning May 3rd, I will deliver 12 radio talks, one weekly, on the subject and will distribute the text to all who may request it. As soon as the booklet is off the press I shall send you several copies, and you might be able to use it for distribution among the clergy. I promise to do all I can - my motive is selfish. I want my child to live out her years. to Professor Einstein my deep heart-felt wishes for good health and serenity of mind and more inspired creativity, Respectfully, Ely E. Pilchik, Rabbi
