Northwestern University Evanston, Illinois
The Technological Institute 18 February 1947 Professor Albert Einstein, Princeton, N. J.
Dear Professor Einstein: A newspaper report tells of your chairmanship of a commitee whose purpose is to educate the public more fully in the implications of the nuclear bomb. The same issue portrays the depths of ignorance, or indifference, on the part of some members of congress towards this unprecedented situation. Education is obviously needed. It is a pleasure to assist in a small way, through the enclosed contribution, to enable you to carry out your plans. May the succeed magnificently! Cordially yours, Paul E. Klopsteg
