However, you cannot fail to realize that any opinion expressed publicly by one as prominently connected with these movements as yourself will become associated in the public mind with these organizations. It is my belief that the effectiveness of the Emergency Committee is greatly impaired and the usefulness of its work much reduced by having as its Chairman one who is publicly known to support Wallace for President, and after much deliberation I have decided to refrain from making any further financial contribution until this matter is cleared up.
