THE UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER STRONG MEMORIAL HOSPITAL 260 CRITTENDEN BOULEVARD ROCHESTER 7, NEW YORK BASIL C. MACLEAN, M.D. DIRECTOR MONROE 2000 Sp December 16, 1946 Professor Albert Einstein Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists 90 Nassau Street Princeton, N.J. Dear Professor Einstein: I am enclosing a small contribution from Mrs. Clausen and myself towards the Fund being raised by the Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists. While in Englad during the past summer, and recently while conversing with a member of the Ministry of the British Treasury, we were aghast at the indifference of the English people and of their governing officials to atomic warfare. We think that something can be done by sending some of our friends copies of the pamphlet, "Only Then Shall We Find Courage". I would greatly appreciate having a dozen copies. Yours sincerely, S. W. Clausen, M.D. special reply t Enc.
