WOMEN'S INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE FOR PEACE AND FREEDOM

March 4th, 1947,
My dear [illegible] Einstein - Yours received. Enclosed find check for [illegible] 5. But do you know what my husband said when he read your letter? "These scientists received enormous salaries from the government to make this awful destructive power, now let them pour some of this money into protecting themselves as well as all Humanity". - I say every cent of that money so earned should go in to the campaign - Why did you allow yourselves to be so used?
Another thing: After last war you said if 2 million people absolutely refused to support war no government would dare declare war" - I handed out and mailed out hundreds of your statement for I agreed wholeheartedly. "War will cease when men refuse to fight." But when this last war
