"Your brief on "Building a Science of Opinion" suggests a very challenging possibility. It would seem to me that the editing of this book by people of different religious faiths and different political opinions might well be adopted as a project of the American Philosophical Society, along with a further exploration of how a harmonizing framework for philosophy might be established and used on a world wide basis.
Albert Einstein"
Your article states that you "cannot arouse the American people to the truths of the atomic era by logic alone." I am sure you do not mean that we should abandon logic. Instead we must weld logic to "that deep power of emotion which is a basic ingredient of religion." This the document I forwarded to you seeks to do.
Your immediate response will be very much appreciated.
Sincerely yours,
Merlin M. Paine home address 3236 - 37th Place South Seattle 44, Washington
P.S. My previous letter was addressed to you at Princeton University. If it has been mislaid, I can rush you another copy.
