Southwest City, Missouri January 29, 1947 Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists, Inc. 90 Nassau Street Princeton, New Jersey Gentlemen: Enclosed you will find my remittance for $10.00 which I am sending as a small contribution to the fund you wish to raise for use toward education of the people of this nation and the world of the dire necessity of international control of atomic energy developments and uses. I am a strong advocate of world government under which all weapons of war might be controlled. I look upon this as the only approach to relief from the precarious position in which civilization finds itself. I agree that a new type of thinking is necessary, if mankind is to survive. I would appreciate any information you might care to disclose in regard to the methods you plan to use in carrying out your education program, as I might possibly devote some of my spare time toward obtaining contributions to that end. I feel that a presentation of the education plan to possible contributors might serve as an aid toward obtaining contributions. Very truly yours, Walter L. Manning Walter L. Manning
