Dr. Albert Einstein, Princeton, New Jersey.
Dear Doctor Einstein:
I have read with much interest the item in the "New York Times" of Saturday, the 25th inst., "Atomic Education Urged by Einstein." I enclose check for $5.00, my modest contribution.
I entertain a hypothesis as to the basic constitution of the atom. If this hypothesis has any basis, it is a matter of first importance. -- If true, and if that fact is set before the world by recognized scientists, it will result in "a new type of thinking," which will cause men to move, live, and let live, on "higher levels."
Would you permit me to submit this hypothesis to you?
Most respectfully yours, E. B. Leiby
