Barney Watson testing wine in a Food Science & Technology lab. Barney Watson was an instructor and Enology Extension Specialist for Oregon State University for 28 years. Watson taught wine-making courses and managed the campus winery.

Lonnie Harris was the first director of OSU's Educational Opportunities Program (EOP). OSU's Black Cultural Center is named after him.
