Established in 1980 with grant funds from the federal government's Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Oregon Productivity Center promoted and highlighted the issue of productivity and efficiency among small and medium-size Oregon businesses. In this capacity, the Center conducted seminars on management, published a newsletter on productivity, and developed a management technique designed to measure business efficiency called Productivity By the Objectives Matrix. In 1988, after failure to secure the renewal of EDA funding, the Center disbanded.
The administrative records for the Oregon Productivity Center are located in RG 219. Other photographic images pertaining to the Center can be found in the News and Communication Services photograph collection (P 57).
