This accession consists of materials generated and collected by the Panhellenic Council and is made up of award applications, brochures, certificates, constitutions/bylaws, handbooks, meeting minutes, a newsletter, photographs, plaques, and rush statistics. The bulk of this transfer is comprised of application packets for prepared by sorority chapters for the Vanderpool Chapter of the Year Award. Information detailed in the packets include: community service events, awards received by members, educational programming, and chapter management. The two photographic prints are composite group shots of the 2010/2011 Panhellenic Council.

Interfraternity Council Records (RG 088), 1959-2011

This accession consists of materials generated and collected by the OSU Interfraternity Council (IFC) and is made up of bills/resolutions, budgetary statements, a certificate, constitutions/bylaws, correspondence, DVDs, handbooks, meeting minutes, newsletters, newspaper clippings, photographs, posters, publications, sound recordings, and VHS videotapes. In addition to documenting various events organized by the IFC, these records also reflect interaction between IFC and national greek organizations, the management of judicial referrals, tracking of rush/recruitment statistics, and educational programming. Among the events reflected in these files include the annual IFC Sing show during Mom's Weekend, rush "Greek" week activities, and information seminars on safety at Lake Shasta. The 17 VHS Videotapes and 3 DVDs all contain performances recorded at the IFC Sing. The 6 cassette tape sound recordings also mostly contain IFC Sing shows. Numbering 7 prints in total, the photographs are group and composite shots depicting members of the IFC as well as Panhellenic Council.

Office of Greek Life Records (RG 223), 1924-2014

This accession consists of materials generated and collected by the Office of Greek Life and is made up of artifacts, correspondence, course materials, handbooks, newsletters, newspaper clippings, overhead transparencies, photographs, publications, reports, and surveys. These files relate to the Greek Life Office's administration of fraternity and sorority chapters at OSU and document activities such as: the tracking of academic scholarship among Greek members, interaction with off-campus community organizations, the oversight of events organized by Greek houses, the conducting of surveys, the review of risk management policies, and the collection of news stories about OSU Greeks. Numbering 20 prints in total, the photographs depict Greek students engaged in a variety of events, Greek houses, and group shots of sorority/fraternity members gathered in front of the Memorial Union. The artifacts consist of four tee-shirts (3 different designs) and a decorative paddle made for the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

H. J. Andrews Experimental Forest Oral History Collection (OH 28), 1996-1998

This accession consists of sound recordings and transcripts documenting interviews conducted by Max Geier with OSU Forest Research Laboratory faculty and others about the H. J. Andrews Experiment Forest. The recordings, made up of 54 microcassette tapes in total, were generated as a part of a historical review of the forest. The report that resulted from the review, "Necessary Work: Discovering Old Forests, New Outlooks, and Community on the H. J. Andrews Experimental Forest: 1948-2000," is available online at the U.S. Forest Service website. Among the subjects interviewed include: Fred Swanson, Phil Sollins, Jack Lattin, Susan Stafford, Dick Waring, Andrew Moldenke, Gordon Grant, Ted Dyrness, and Cindy Miner. Transcripts of the interviews are available as downloadable PDF and Word files through the Special Collections and Archives reading room user terminal.

Water Resources Research Institute Records (RG 251), 1949-2001

This accession consists of materials generated and collected by the Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI) and is made up of conference proceedings, correspondence, newsletters, photographs, reports, sound recordings, transcripts, and VHS videotapes. These records primarily document water related research supported and published by WRRI. The topics in the research include: stream health for salmon habitat, small hydropower projects, snowfall distribution in Oregon, streamflow data, and studies of the Tualatin River Basin. The transcripts reflect a series of interviews with personnel from the Bonneville Power Administration, the Northwest Power Planning Council, Portland General Electric, and the Oregon Department of Fisheries and Wildlife. These interviews were conducted as a part of a project researching organizational decision making in administrative bodies involved in fisheries management and power generation. Numbering 314 photographic slides in total, the images are part of two slide presentations on riparian zones. The sound recordings are made up of 16 cassette tapes containing the project interviews and audio cues for the slide presentations. The 5 videotapes pertain to water cleanup plans (TMDLs), the Tualatin River, and a seminar series about water issues in Eastern Oregon.

Margaret Meehan Papers, 1961-1987

This accession consists of materials collected and generated by Honors Program Director and History Instructor Margaret Meehan. Primarily made up of published writings relating to women in American history and culture, this transfer includes newspaper clippings, magazines, newspapers, newsletters, book chapters, and poems. In addition to profiles of promiment women in history, subjects covered in these materials include: women in science, changing gender roles, salary disparity between the sexes, the feminist movement, and women in higher education. Meehan's own writings are reflected in notes and handouts prepared for her classes on women in U.S. history. About one-third of this collection is made up of newspaper and magazine accounts of the President John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy assasinations and the memorial observances for them. The Kennedy related material includes a honorary invitation to the presidential inauguation ceremony for JFK and literature for Robert Kennedy's presidential campaign in Oregon. There are also two posterboard displays containing mounted photographs of Margaret and her husband Thomas Meehan as well as a newspaper clipping about Thomas. Also part of this transfer is a screen printed image on paper. Undated and unidentified, the image resembles the profile of a coast seen from somwhwere at sea.

Extension Service Records (RG 111), 1975-2004

This accession consists of materials generated and collected by the Extension Service and is made up of correspondence, flyers, newsletters, meeting minutes, notes, policies/procedures, reports, and a VHS videotape. Most of these records were found in notebooks assembled as a part of administrative reviews, strategic planning projects, and a handbook of policies for reference use. The documentation of reviews relate to a university-wide accreditation in 2000, a review of the Extension Sea Grant Program, and one for the Office of Personnel and Organization Development. The videotape, "The State is Our Campus," is a part of the notebook compiled for the accreditation review.

William G. Robbins Papers, 1922-2012

This addition to the William G. Robbins Papers consists of materials collected and generated by Robbins in the course of researching and writing the book "A Man for All Seasons: Monroe Sweetland and the Liberal Paradox." Primarily made up of reference materials accumulated during the process of research, this transfer includes articles, correspondence, a DVD, meeting minutes, newspaper clippings, speeches, theses, and transcripts of interviews. The files are grouped together by the source of their origin (mostly the Oregon Historical Society, the University of Oregon Library, and the Sweetland family). This accession also contains an edited draft copy of the book manuscript as well as public presentations by Robbins about Sweetland's life and legacy.

Oregon Hop Growers Association Records, 1912-2011

Accession 2014:113, received 2014-12-10. 5.6 cubic feet; 6 archives boxes

This accession consists of materials generated and collected by the Oregon Hop Growers Association (OHGA) and is made up of accounting ledgers, articles of incorporation, bulletins, bylaws, correspondence, event programs, financial records, meeting minutes, membership lists, newsletters, newspaper clippings, publications, and reports. In addition to documenting the administration of OHGA, these records also reflect OHGA's participation in conferences, the organization of outreach events such as field days/tours, and collection of statistical information about hop production in the U.S. and abroad. Materials from the organization Hop Growers of America that reflect their meetings and reports of compiled data comprise about half of this transfer. Other organizations represented in these records include the Oregon Farm Bureau, the Oregon State Hop Commission, and the Political Action Committee "AG-PAC."

Hops Research Council, 1943-2009

Accession 2014:113, received 2014-12-10. 3 cubic feet; 3 archives boxes

This accession consists of materials generated and collected by the Hops Research Council (HRC) that document the council's support of hops research projects as well as the gathering of information about hops research outside of the U.S. In addition to annual reports summarizing ongoing research projects funded by the HRC, this transfer includes article reprints, bylaws, cds, contracts, correspondence, financial records, meeting minutes, newspaper clippings, notes, research proposals, and symposium proceedings. Much of the research reflected in these records pertains to the development of new hop varieties and the management of hop diseases such as powdery mildew. Projects by researchers at OSU (incl. those with the USDA Agricultural Research Service) are featured prominently in these files which include the work of Alfred Haunold, Cindy Ocomb, Ward Strong, Max Deinzer, and John Henning. The six cds contain annual reports.

Campus Club Alumni Collection, 1943-2013

This addition to the Campus Club Collection is made up of meeting minutes, newsletters, and scrapbooks documenting various activities of the residents of the Campus Club cooperative house. In addition to photographs and newspaper clippings, the 3 scrapbooks contain dance cards, invitations, letters, and newsletters. Materials found loose inside the scrapbooks have been into file folders that reside in the box with the minutes. The minutes date from 1943 to 1961.

Avery Lodge Records, 1966-2014

This accession consists of materials documenting the Avery Lodge cooperative house and is made up of cds, certificates, constitutions, correspondence, floppy diskettes, a guestbook, manuals, meeting minutes, member tracking cards, newsletters, photograph albums, photographs, a plaque, posters, printing stamps, scrapbooks, USB drives, and a VHS videotape. Scrapbooks and photograph albums constitute the bulk of this transfer with the scrapbooks containing a combination of newspaper clippings, photographs, greeting cards, flyers, and invitations. Numbering about 4895 images in total (2200 prints, 2600 negatives, and 95 slides), the photographs depict Avery Lodge residents in portrait/group shots and engaged a variety of activities that include rafting trips, athletics, Halloween parties, Dad's/Mom's Weekend events, dances, and gatherings with other cooperative houses. The 3 floppy diskettes, 2 USB drives, and 1 cd contain files with digital photos, newsletters, member lists, and information for house maintenance/management. The videotape contains a slideshow of images reflecting the Inter-Cooperative Association during the 1999/2000 year.

Music Department Records (RG 148), 2006-2014

This accession is made up of brochures, concert programs, flyers, posters, and cds documenting performances of Music Department choirs, choruses, bands, and ensembles. These materials also reflect events organized by the Corvallis-OSU Symphony, the Corvallis-OSU Piano International, and the "Music a la Carte" series. Other publications found in this transfer include items for the 2014 graduation of music students, a conference program for the 2014 Oregon Music Education Association meeting (hosted by OSU), and sheet music published by OSU alumnus Joshua Rist for the poem "Invictus." Two of the three cds contain performances by the OSU Meistersingers, dated 2012/13 and 2013/14 respectively, while the third is made up of recordings by the OSU Marching Band entitled "That's an Awfully Big Sound for a Band to Have.!"

Fritz Marti Papers, 1925-2003

Accession 2014:109, received ca. 2010. 1.3 cubic feet; 1 cubic foot box, 1 document case

This accession is comprised of a wide range of materials documenting the life and work of Fritz Marti. The contents include correspondence, including family letters - especially letters written at Christmastime - and other personal exchanges, many of them written in German. Also included are an eclectic assemblage of biographical materials including thirteen of Marti's "pocket diary" daily planners, several copies of Marti's vita, autobiographical notes and manuscripts, and family keepsakes including wedding announcements, newspaper clippings, school transcripts, and a dream journal that Marti kept ca. 1986. Marti's academic work is also represented in this transfer. Manuscripts and compiled research materials reflect Marti's scholarly interests in U.S. religious practice, religious oddities, the work of Friedrich Schelling, art appreciation and aesthetics. A composition book from 1925, eight assorted photographs, and a collection of materials related to Marti's association with Southern Illinois University round out the transfer.

This accession is made up of 100 photographic prints documenting a reunion event held in honor of OSU football coach Dee Andros. The images depict Andros, players from his teams, and other athletic coaching staff mingling at the reunion and speaking to the crowd. In addition to Andros, others featured in these images include: Jerry Pettibone, Dutch Baughman, Jim Walker, Bruce Kannenberg, Dave Graham, Steve Bielenberg, Ken McGrew, Bud Riley, and Jean Eggers.

Student Health Services Records (RG 023), 2000-2014

This accession consists of policy and procedure guidelines used by Student Health Services staff in the application of medical treatments, screening of students for conditions such as TB, handling of equipment, following of communication protocols, and the management of patient information. Many of these statements contain handwritten notations of policy revisions and updates. Also included in this transfer are two reference guides used by Student Health Services staff to dispense information over the phone. One of the guides is designed to manage a general range of health issues while the other is specifically oriented toward obstetrics/gynecology questions.

Oxford House Records, 2003

Accession 2014:105, received 2014-11-06. 0.08 cubic foot; 1 file folder

This addition to the Oxford House Records is made up of the contents of a time capsule assembled by three Oxford House residents in 2003. In an enclosed letter to the "adventurer" opening up the sealed capsule, the three creators of the capsule (Megan Baldwin, Kim Merydith, and Christie) describe their experiences during their residency at Oxford and time at OSU in general. Along with the letter, there are also two portrait shots of the three students together, a collage of clipped words and images, a copy of the Barometer Newspaper, 3 comic wrappers from "Bazooka Joe" bubble gum, and an issue of "Us" Magazine. Housed in a shoebox, the capsule was found during renovation work in the building where the Oxford House (now closed) resided.

Roland Eugene Dimick Papers, 1938-1976

Accession 2014:104, received 2014-11-04. 0.80 cubic foot; 1 archives box

This addition into the Roland Eugene Dimick Papers consists of materials generated and collected by alumnus and Fisheries and Wildlife Dept. professor Dimick. In addition to correspondence, notes, research data, student papers, and studies, this transfer is made up of reports issued by the Oregon State Game Commission on river basin investigations throughout Oregon that include analyses of the impact of reservoirs and dams upon stream flow and fish populations. Dimick's research, as reflected in the notes, data, and correspondence, focus primarily upon two projects: a survey of cutthroat trout and the effects of a fish diet to the off-coloration in fur animals (mink and fox). The notes include historical references to Pacific Northwest fish populations Dimick compiled from reports, newspapers, and books. Recorded in the research data are numbers relating to the fish stocking "planting" of several Oregon lakes/rivers, comparisons between cutthroat and rainbow trout, chinook salmon runs on the Willamette, and information collected from trout trapped on the Alsea River.

George H. Arscott Papers, 1987-1994

This addition to the George H. Arscott Papers is made up of correspondence between Poultry Science Professor Arscott and the OSU Foundation regarding the donation of his poultry science journals at the time of retirement. Among the recipients of Arscott's journals was the OSU Faculty Agriculture Project at Sana University in Yemen. Included with the correspondence is a newspaper clipping about Arscott's visit to poultry operations in Peru as an IESC volunteer.

Roger Weaver Papers, 1978-2014

This addition to the Roger Weaver Papers is made up of books, journals, and a cd featuring poetry by the English Professor Weaver.The five published volumes of poetry are: "Twenty One Waking Dreams," "The Orange and Other Poems," "Reading the Stones," "Traveling On the Great Wheel," and "The Ladder of Desire." Containing poems, narrative reflections on various topics, and drawings, the five journals document Weaver's daily thoughts during different periods of his life in Corvallis and in Greece from 1987 to 1998. The cd, "The Afternoon of the Song," is a sound recording of a June 2013 concert that featured 14 of Weaver's poems set to music composed by Judith Walls Freeman. Sheet music written for these recorded poems, as well as for the poem "Sky Flier," is included in this transfer.

Sharon E. Rosenkoetter Papers, 1996-2011

This addition to the Sharon E. Rosenkoetter Papers documents two research projects administered by Human Development and Family Sciences Professor Rosenkoetter and is made up of agreements, an article manuscript, budgetary materials, conference presentations, contracts, correspondence, course sylabi, grant proposals, meeting minutes, newspaper clippings, notes, reports, a student paper, survey data, and transcripts of interviews. Most of these materials reflect a study of early childhood education on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation conducted as a partnership between the Warm Springs Tribe, OSU, and Central Oregon Community College. Data collected from this project is in form of interview transcripts and surveys with Warm Springs residents involved in the local education and human services community as well as students. The Head Start Program is referenced often thoroughout these files. These records also contain data from the National Survey of Families and Households project.

Oregon Prune Association Letter Press Book, 1890-1894

This accession consists of a book of bound copied letters sent by Willis Brown and George Brown to various recipients regarding the Oregon Prune Association. The letters primarily relate to the financial management and promotion of the association and contain references to stock sales in the company, purchases of land throughout Oregon for prune orchards, marketing the association in the Eastern U.S., and the appointment of agents to help boost membership in the enterprise. A few of the letters refer to real estate development in the Portland area. Willis Brown served as general manager of the association and George Brown worked in Portland as an attorney. An alphabetical index listing letter recipients can be found at the beginning of the volume.

Sigma Delta Chi Oregon State Chapter Records, 1920-1967

This addition to the records of the Oregon State Chapter of the Sigma Delta Chi Honorary Society (SDC) is made up of a certificate, correspondence, meeting minutes, a membership ledger, newspaper clippings, publications, and reports. Interfiled among the correspondence are annual convention reports, chapter reports, membership lists, publications, and treasurer's reports.The publications include copies of the SDC newsletter "The Industrial Journalist," issues of the "Barometer" Newspaper edited by SDC, the chapter's parody editions of the campus newspaper ("The Thermometer" and "The Seismograph"), and copies of publications from other SDC chapters collected during annual conventions.

Peace Jam Northwest Records (RG 257), 2004-2011

This accession consists of materials generated by Peace Jam Northwest and is made up of annual reports, books, budgetary records, business cards, cds, contracts, correspondence, DVDs, meeting minutes, newspaper clippings, a patch, photographs, sound recordings, a USB drive, and video recordings. Documenting conferences and other educational events coordinated by Peace Jam Northwest, these records include resource guides, handbooks, and other curriculum materials designed for use by mentors and small group session participants. The photographs number about 30 prints and depict activities at various Peace Jam Northwest gatherings. Many of the images were prepared for display and include captions. Made up of a combination of photos, audio, Powerpoint presentations, and graphics, the files on the 33 cds contain images of Peace Jam events, speeches by the Nobel Prize recipients, background music for events, information on program participants, SMILE camp, and flyer graphics. The 41 video recordings on MiniDV cassette (38) and VHS cassette (3) document Peace Jam events, an interview with Rigoberta Menchu, poetry readings at the 2000 Dr. M. L. King Celebration, and a students of color panel. The sound recordings include microcassettes (47) and cassette tapes (6) which feature interviews with and presentations by Leah Gross, Cessa Heard-Johnson, Delia Ramirez, David Kong, Becky Warner, Candace Watson, John Young, and others. The 24 floppy diskettes contain transcripts of interviews and files about the AISES focus group, the Community Involvement Fair, a diversity summit, the logo for CSC, and racial subliminal messages at OSU. Produced by the national Peace Jam organization, the 3 DVDs detail the program's history and involvement around the world.

Harold W. and Charles H. Johnson Collection, 1923-1982

This accession consists of materials documenting the student experiences and careers of alumni Harold William Johnson and Charles Harold "Woody" Johnson and is made up of a flyer, a commencement program, photographs, a letterman's patch, a certificate, and two caps. These two alumni are also father (Harold '23) and son (Charles '57). Items reflecting the Johnsons' campus years consist of a 1923 commencement program, the two orange-and-black-rooter lids, and a patch for Charles' involvement on the varsity crew team. The flyer and certificate pertain to the Johnsons' careers as a school administrator (Harold) and an engineer (Charles). Numbering 5 prints in total, the photographs are portrait shots depicting both Harold and Charles as well as Anita Johnson (Harold's wife) and Harold's college friends Frida, Martin, and Anna.

Milagro (Miracle Theatre Group) Records, 1986-2007

This addition to the Milagro (Miracle Theatre Group) Records is made up of documentation reflecting the theatre company's grant activity and financial accounting. Organized chronologically, the grant materials include proposals, correspondence, reports, and letters of agreement. The inventory lists the various foundations, commissions, and companies that served as the source of the grants, as well as the applications that were rejected. Also arranged chronologically, the financial records contain summary statements and information about audits, box office totals, taxes, and insurance/workers compensation.

Sports Trading Card Collection, 1972-2007

This accession is made up of sports trading cards portraying athletes in the professional leagues in football, basketball, and baseball who attended and played at OSU. Produced by Topps and other companies, these cards primarily depict National Football League players, but include members of the National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball. Among the alumni represented on these cards include: Gary Payton, A. C. Green, Rockne Freitas, Esera Tuaolo, Steven Jackson, Chad Johnson, Mike Thurman, Ken Simonton, and T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

Extension and Experiment Station Communications Records (RG 069), 1961-2009

This accession consists of materials generated and collected by the Extension and Experiment Station Communications (EESC) Office that were arranged into a subjectlevel filing system. With about half of this transfer comprised up of press releases issued by the EESC, these files also include article reprints, correspondence, curriculum vitae, event programs, Extension circulars, newsletters, newspaper clippings, photographs, presentations/speeches, reports, and transcripts of interviews. The files document research by OSU faculty from various departments and colleges, focusing in particular upon projects in the agricultural and animal sciences.

Extension and Experiment Station Communications Moving Images Collection (FV P 120), 2000

Fritz Marti Papers, 1945-1986

This accession consists of 18 "pocket diary" daily planners kept by Fritz Marti from 1945-1986. The diaries generally contain notes on Marti's professional and personal appointments, work deadlines, and information on noteworthy events in which he found himself engaged from day to day. These tapes also contain footage about Oregon businesses such as Starker Forests Inc., Widmer Brewing, Columbia Sportswear, and Stahlbrush Island Farms. Business owners featured on these recordings include Al Reser, Jean Mater, and Delford Smith. About a quarter of these tapes contain lectures for a Family Business Management class (BA 463/563) produced for a distance education course.

This addition to the W. Dean Frischknecht Papers consists of correspondence, day calendars, herd registers, narrative work reports, newspaper clippings, notes, photographs, and publications. Mostly documenting Frischknecht's work as an Extension Livestock Specialist that included the instruction of short courses and publication of research, these materials also reflect Frischknecht's management of his cattle herd. Frischknecht's writings are reflected in Extension bulletin, conference papers, and an essay on the history of the Western Oregon Livestock Association (WOLA). Making up about half of this transfer, the calendars date from 1974 to 2007 and reflect daily activities for work and "to-do" lists. Numbering 9 images in total (8 prints and 1 transparency), the photographs depict Frischknecht's involvement in WOLA that includes portrait shots of other members of the organization. There are also images of cattle that were featured in Extension publications.

Among these publications are several issues of the "Oregon Brew Crew" newsletter, which Daly edited. Newspaper clippings documenting the Portland homebrewing scene are also part of this transfer. A number of the articles in the newsletters document the OSU Fermentation Science Program.

This accession consists of materials generated and collected by Sociology Professor Hans Plambeck that reflect his work on a survey of ethnic groups in Oregon. In addition to documentation relating to the survey itself, such as completed questionnaires, correspondence, contact lists, progress reports, and notes from interviews, this transfer is made up of reference materials that include newspaper clippings, event programs, article reprints, circulars, photographs, reports, student papers, and newspapers from various American ethnic communities. Most of the files are arranged by nationality or religious group. Plambeck's own work is featured in these files in a paper on "culture and social change" as a part of a project on the Warm Springs tribe. The student papers primarily represent assignments for coursework in "race relations" classes taught by William Smith at Linnfield College and Texas Christian University. There are also a few essays written by Smith about Asian immigrants and Nisei in the U.S. Topics addressed in these materials include the Japanese internment during World War II, discrimination against African-Americans, and international/interracial marriage.

This addition to the Doryce McDonald Papers is made up of a thesis, printed reproductions of an exhibit, and photographs depicting logging operations. The thesis, "Forests of the North American Far West in the 20th Century: Report of an Electronically Crafted Photodocumentary Exhibit," reflects McDonald's graduate work at OSU as a student in the MAIS (Master's of Arts in Interdisplinary Studies) program. In the thesis, McDonald describes the process of developing the exhibit and the research behind the images she selected to represent transformations in forestry from 1900 to 1990. Of the three reproductions of the exhibit panels, two are spiral bound and one is laminated. The eight images were aquired by McDonald from the Oregon Historical Society, the University of California-Davis, and Columbia Helicopters Inc. Most of the views document logging in the early 20th century while one shows helicopter logging in 1980.

This accession consists of materials generated and collected by the Bioresource Engineering Department (formerly known as the Agricultural Engineering Dept.) which document research published by department faculty, circulars and bulletins collected for distribution to the public, the tracking of alumni, a curriculum review of the department, and the Agricultural Engineering Research Foundation. This transfer includes article reprints, correspondence, event programs, newsletters, photographs, reports, and technical drawings. Published by OSU as well as other university Extension programs and the USDA, the circulars for distribution primarily relate to construction of structures and buildings such as greenhouses, beehives, food dehydrators, manure storage, sheds, smokehouses, cattle corrals, and water wheel hydraulics. The 22 photographs (14 prints and 8 slides) depict agricultural waste treatment facilities and students doing lab research. About half of this transfer is made up of 5x8 index cards containing information compiled by the department on Agricultural Engineering alumni from 1917 to 1984. In addition to date of graduation, employer, and home address, these cards also contain family information and death date. There are also business cards and newspaper clippings attached to some of the cards.

This addition to the J. Ronald Miner Papers is made up of artifacts, business cards, certificates, correspondence, newspaper clippings, a passport, patent paperwork, photographs, speeches, and yearbooks. These materials document various projects by Agricultural Engineering Professor J. Ronald Miner which include a visiting professorship at the University of Malawi (as a Fulbright Scholar), work on patent development for a waste removal process, a tour of pork and dairy production facilities in Russia, and involvement in the development of the Environmental Center for Livestock Waste Management at National Pingtung University (NPUST) in Taiwan. Miner's work with the company Odor Control Systems Inc.(which he co-founded) is also reflected in these records. Some of the speeches represent Miner's active participation in the Toastmasters organization. Related to the speeches is a transcript of a sermon Miner wrote and delivered to the Oakville Presbyterian Church. Filed with the sermon transcript is a brochure for a published book on Miner's sermons to children. In addition to portrait shots, the photographs depict Miner and his wife Betty in Malawi, taking Pakistani students on a tour to Crater Lake, and with other participants of the NPUST project. The photographs number 29 prints and 186 negatives. The yearbooks feature Miner as a student at Warren Central high School, Laurence High School, and the University of Kansas. The artifacts include a Triad Club paperweight, label pins, and a tie clip.

This accession is an addition to the William L. Finley Papers made up of correspondence and newspaper clippings documenting the wildlife conservation work of William and Irene Finley. Among the topics addressed in the correspondence include: song bird protection laws in Oregon, requests to Finley for use of his photographs, the forming of an Oregon Fish and Game Commission, biological surveys conducted by Finley, legislation in California repealing meadowlark protection, and letters by Finley to various organizations regarding the presentation of one of his lectures. A highlight among the correspondence is a thank you letter from Finley to President Theodore Roosevelt for his establishment of wild bird reservations. The clippings are newspaper articles written by Irene and William Finley about encounters with wildlife, nocturnal bird sounds, and their filming of wildlife at Paulina Lake. The four articles all appeared in editions of the "Oregon Sunday Journal."

Roy Cooley Photograph Album (P 302), 1907-1911

This accession is made up of a photograph album assembled by alumnus Roy Cooley containing images that primarily document his student experience at OAC from 1909 to 1911. The photographs, mostly postcard prints, depict Cooley in group shots with his fellow students in the Chintimini Club, ROTC cadet formations on campus, football games, athletic team group shots, portrait shots of student-athletes, daily life in the club, campus buildings, and annual events such as the Sophomore-Freshman Bag Picnic. In addition to football, basketball, trackand field, and baseball are also represented in these images. Off campus views in these photographs include shots at the Oregon State Fair, Crescent City (California), Ashland, and the area around Kerby (Oregon). Some of the prints were received as postcards and contain messages to Roy. In addition to the album, there are also two photographic prints depicting Cooley and wife and fellow alumna Fay in portrait shots.

This accession consists of a ledger containing entries recorded on a daily basis by Campus Police from May 15, 1964 to July 31, 1967. The entries contain brief descriptions by the reporting officer of campus incidents and the response that was taken. Most of the entries are marked with the words "normal duties" signifying that nothing of interest occurred during that shift. Among the activities and incidents reported in this log include: paper fires in dormitories, water fights, break-ins into campus buildings, burst pipes, escorts to the infirmary, indecent exposure, pigs loose in buildings, ambulance calls for students, and car accidents. After the last entry in the log, dated July 31, 1967, there is the following note: "this log abandoned in favor of radio log and police reports."

This addition to the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity OSU Chapter Records consists of materials generated by the Kappa Sigma Nu Fraternity (KSN) that is made up of five issues of the "Star" newsletter, informational brochures, and a letter addressed to the national office of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. The brochures and letter were prepared by KSN members as a petition to establish a chapter of Phi Delta Theta at Oregon Agricultural College. Letters from other sources that document this petition process, pursued by the Kappa Sigma Nu Alumni Association, have been added to this accession. They were once described as a part of the OSU Special Collections and Archives' Memorabilia Collection. Gerald W. Williams Collection, 1896-2014

This addition to the Gerald W. Williams Collection is made up of materials collected and generated by Williams that document the U.S. Forest Service, Oregon history, the Civilian Conservation Corps, the logging industry in the Pacific Northwest, and Native Americans in Oregon. About half of this transfer consists of publications and reports issued by the Forest Service that include histories of regional units within the agency, ranger districts, and accounts from Forest Service employees. There are also various Forest Service newsletters as well as handbooks/guides for timber management. Other materials include articles, correspondence, maps, newspaper clippings, photographs, a poster, and a sound recording. Williams' writing is reflected in a series of articles on Oregon history for the "Lane County Living" magazine and in reviews of manuscripts for the Oregon Historical Society and OSU Press. The photographs are a combination of postcards, prints, and stereographic images that primarily depict views of landscapes, logging operations, towns, and fish harvesting in Oregon and Washington. Numbering 200 photographs in total (114 prints, 71 stereographs, and 15 negatives) the images include views of the Columbia Gorge, McKenzie River, Mount Rainier, Seattle, and several national forests. Among the items related to Native Americans include an early print of "caches at Celilo" and a report on the Celilo Park Confluence Project. The two maps illustrate forest reserves and national parks in the Western U.S. (1898) and the Cascade National Forest (1911). They are stored in a map folder. Consisting of one cassette tape, the sound recording contains an oral history interview with Michael Kerrick, Willamette National Forest supervisor.

This accession consists of materials generated and collected by alumnus and Horticulture faculty Harry B. Lagerstedt and is made up of correspondence, Extension bulletins, index cards, and a variety of reports on filbert and walnut research. Featuring topics such as filbert breeding, walnut pollination, and hazelnut variety development, Lagerstedt's research writings include published proceedings and field studies with research data about filbert varieties from two particular orchards in Oregon.The correspondence reflects Lagerstedt's interaction with other horticulturalists and researchers in England, France, Canada, and the Netherlands regarding filbert varieties. The bulletins were primarily published by the OSU Extension Service. Constituting about half of this transfer, the index cards were stored in a box marked "Harry's Walnut Notes" and are part of a filing card system referencing published studies on walnut research.

Bill Crocker Papers, 1970-1975

This accession consists of materials generated and collected by alumnus Bill Crocker that document his student experience, work as a process engineer for the Georgia-Pacific Corporation (GP), involvement in a summer project with CH2M Hill, and work as a graduate teaching assistant (GTA). Reflecting Crocker's undergraduate and graduate studies at OSU, handwritten class notes make up the bulk of this transfer with civil engineering, physics, chemical engineering, chemistry, and mechanical engineering classes representing most of the coursework. Outside of the sciences, there are also notes from classes in music, political science, religion, and anthropology.The notes are in file folders and spiral bound notebooks organized by both course title and by academic year/term. Course outlines and exams are interspersed throughout the notes as well as reference materials such as article reprints, publications, and book chapters. Materials pertaining to Crocker's GTA position with the Chemical Engineering Department include class notes, seminar announcements, memoranda, staff/student directories, assignment exercises, and safety inspection reports. In addition to technical reports written by Crocker at GP, other documentation related to Crocker's off-campus work includes memoranda, a handbook, notes, procedural guidelines, and article reprints.

Included with the minutes is a catalog card system with information on various subjects referenced in the minutes such as dual majors, foreign students, curriculum, the Richland Center program, preliminary examinations, electronic delivery of courses, and masters degree programs. In addition to the date of the meetings, the cards also contain exerpts from the minutes relevant to the particular topic being referenced. The cards cite meetings from 1948 through 1994.

Ralph O. Coleman Papers, 1910-1991

This accession consists of materials generated and collected by alumnus and baseball coach Ralph O. Coleman that reflect his career with OSU athletics, military service/training, honors received, and work for the U.S. Army in baseball and basketball coaching clinics in Europe and Japan. In addition to photographs, this transfer includes an architectural drawing, a calendar notebook, certificates, correspondence, diplomas, a drawing, employment records, military medals/service pins, military records, newspaper clippings, plaques, publications, speeches, and trophies. Numbering about 250 photographs in total, the images depict Coleman in portrait shots, in group shots with other OSU Athletics faculty, attending American Baseball Coaches Association meetings, with wife and friends at his Woodburn home, being honored at award ceremonies, and with other members of the Corvallis Country Club. The images also depict OSU athletics and include portrait shots of players and teams as well as game shots. Primarily pertaining to baseball, these photographs also depict basketball, cross country and track, football, hockey, and wrestling. The views date mostly from the 1910s and 1920s with a few shots of Coleman as a student on the track team. Of special interest in the correspondence are letters relating to Coleman's experiences with fellow Delta Upsilon brother and roommate Linus Pauling. Included is a letter from Pauling to Coleman. The calendar notebook contains notations made by Coleman during his work as a coach for the Army in 1945.

Dixon Lodge Records, 1963-2013

This accession consists of materials generated by the Dixon Lodge cooperative house and is made up of photograph albums and scrapbooks documenting the students who lived there. In addition to group and portrait shots of residents, the images also depict various events at the Lodge such as Halloween parties, outings to the Oregon coast, birthday celebrations, athletic games between other co-op intramural teams, play during snow storms, and general social activities. Loose photographs found detached from the albums in this transfer number about 70 prints in total and also feature a combination of group shots, portrait shots, and images of various activities at the co-op. Mostly made up of photographs, the scrapbooks also contain event programs, flyers, letters, memoranda, newspaper clippings, and postcards. Some of the clippings and event programs reference lodge residents.

Douglas and Mabel McKay Papers, 1927-1960

This addition to the Douglas and Mabel McKay Papers is made up of an identification card, newspaper clippings, photographs, a radio script, speeches, and schedule notes. These materials primarily reflect the various social engagements of the McKays during Douglas' position as Secretary of the Interior from 1953 to 1956. The clippings, schedule notes, and speeches by Mabel document official trips undertaken by the McKays, ceremonies attended, and social events with First Lady Mamie Eisenhower, Patricia Nixon, and other cabinet wives. The clippings and photos also reflect the McKays as a part of public events and ceremonies during Douglas' term as governor of Oregon (1949 to 1953). Numbering 82 prints in total, the photographs depict Douglas and Mabel in portrait shots and at various events, such as the Washington D.C. Cherry Blossom Festival, the Barcelona International Faire, a visit with members of the Blackfoot Indian tribe, and a luncheon party for Mamie Eisenhower. Others featured in these images include Jimmy Stewart, Senator Mark Hatfield, Ginger Rogers, and Pope Pius XII. Most of these items were gathered together by McKay Granddaughter Eileen Hadley Givens in the course of research and writing the book "I Baked a Cake for Ike and Mamie."

This accession consists of materials documenting the Political Identities Project and is made up of cds, completed consent forms, an employment contract, and a list of project participants. The 7 cds contain recorded readings of student papers prepared for a class assignment on personal political statements. In addition to the audio files the cds also contain text files with scripts of the papers as well as Powerpoint slides. Topics explored in these recordings include: gender expectations, religion, popular culture influences, worker's rights, racism, experiences with local political organizations, transgender identity, and views of nature. Also found in this transfer are consent forms completed by the project participants and an employment contract for one of the directors of the project. Numbering 57 recordings in total, these reels and tapes include master copies, promos, and raw stock footage from various productions, such as: "Farmers of the Sea," "Grey Whale: A Radio Tagging Experiment," "Estuary: Columbia's Link with the Sea," "The Return of the Salmon," and "Mammals of the Sea." Among the other recordings in this transfer, the subject matter includes: Celillo Falls, deep ocean vents, crab meat extraction, Columbia River gillnetters, and the Oregon otter trawl fishing industry. This memoir, entitled "Vince: The Memories of a Land-Grant University President," is a draft copy.

This accession to Subgroup 4 (Forest Research Lab Reference Library) is made up of article reprints, bulletins, conference proceedings, course lectures, reports, studies, and theses collected by the Forest Research Laboratory for a reference library of wood related research at OSU and elsewhere. In addition to research published by the Oregon Forest Products Research Laboratory, the publications and reports in this transfer were generated by a variety of sources including: the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S Navy, Washington State University, U.S. Steel Corporation, and a number of academic journals (both U.S. and international). Most of these publications were assigned a number corresponding to the Oxford system of decimal classification for forestry and are arranged roughly in numerical order.

A guide to this system is in the first folder of box 1 of this accession. Among the topics addressed in these materials include: incised fir pole strength, "reaction" wood, the electrical properties of wood/cellulose, Southeast Asian hardwoods, moisture content in wood, the chemical structure of wood lignin, and bark utilization. OSU faculty represented in these published works include: Douglas Glennie, John Mothershead, Stanley Corder, George Atherton, E.F. Kurth, Donald Miller, Helmuth Resch, J.B. Wilson, James Snodgrass, Leif Espenas, and Robert Krahmer.

This accession is an addition to the Denis Lavender Papers made up of article reprints, conference papers, correspondence, notes, overhead transparencies, photographs, reports, research data, and a student paper.These materials document research published by the Forest Science professor Lavender as well as his presentations at conferences and workshops. About half of this transfer is made up of reference materials collected by Lavender reflecting topics such as soil compaction, seed/cone maturity, drought root systems, forestry herbicides, and pollination. In addition to published research from various sources, the reference materials also include photographic slides (74 in total) that were part of a presentation on drought root systems. Four other images (photographic prints) depict Lavender as a part of the Alberta Advanced Forest Management Institute.

Donald B. Zobel Papers, 1935-2008

This accession is an addition to the Donald B. Zobel Papers made up of materials collected by Botany and Plant Pathology professor Zobel which include reports and an undergraduate thesis. Some of the reports relate to research on Port Orford cedars by the U.S. Forest Service from 1935 to 1952. These reports include correspondence referencing the Port Orford studies. In a note attached to these documents, Zobel cites his own studies on Port Orford cedar. Other reports in this transfer pertain to remnant natural areas in Benton County and the Regional Forest Nutrition Research Project. None of these reports were authored by Zobel. The thesis was written by Amanda Parry at the University of Lancaster (UK) and is entitled: "A Study of Forest Regeneration in McDonald Forest."

McMenamins Brewery Collection, 1985-2013

This accession consists of materials documenting the McMenamins company of breweries, pubs, and hotels and is made up of brewsheets, brochures, coasters, decals, digital images on a cd, event programs, flyers, newspaper clippings, tap handles, posters, labels, a wooden cask, and a six-pack of "Hammerhead" beer. In addition to the brewery activity and the various beers released by McMenamins, this collection also contains information on events organized by the company such as homebrew competitions and Brew Fests. The cask was used at the Oak Hills Pub and is decorated with a pen drawing. The images depict the installation of artwork at some of the facilities renovated and operated by McMenamins and include views of the artists in group shots and in the process of their art. These images can also be accessed onsite at the Oregon Hops and Brewing Archives for the OSU Special Collections and Archives.

Charlotte Headrick Papers, 1977-2012

This accession consists of materials generated and collected by Theatre Arts professor Charlotte Headrick that document productions directed by her at OSU, Young Harris College, the Pentacle Theatre, and the University of Tennessee. Most of the files reflect Headrick's directing work and are organized alphabetically by production. These are made up of cast lists, correspondence, drawings, flyers, newspaper clippings, notes, photographs, play scripts, press releases, programs, rehearsal schedules, sheet music, and thank you cards. Newsletters and journals in this transfer feature articles by Headrick and stories about her work. References to the professional careers of Headrick's past students can be found in some of the newspaper clippings and a copy of "American Theater" magazine. There are also recordings of theatrical performances on 5 DVDs and 1 VHS videotape. These productions are: "The Mikado," "An Ideal Husband," "The Coming of Rain," "The Mandrake," and the "Threepenny Opera. "

Both the posters and the program contain information about the chapter's history, including a list of past presidents and meeting traditions like the wolf eel gavel, the red dress, and the broken oar award. The six plaques are "outstanding chapter awards" bestowed to the Oregon Chapter.

George J. and Florence Badura Collection, 1921-1947

This accession is made up of materials documenting the student experience of alumni George J. Badura and Florence (Bedell) Badura. In addition to dance cards, this transfer consists of a door mat, event programs, scrapbook pages, a pennant, photographs, a postcard, publications, a trophy, and yearbooks. Campus events reflected in the programs include the annual engineering show, Junior Weekend, an intercollegiate debating contest, 1923 commencement, the annual business show, and the 1923 ROTC military tournament. Most of these programs were found in mailed envelopes sent from George to Florence. The two alumni magazines found in this accession reference the Baduras. Numbering four prints, the photographs depict the military tournament. Attached to the four loose scrapbook pages are: a button, a commencement program, newspaper clippings, ribbons, and two letterman patches. The trophy is in the shape of a beaver on a pedestal with the inscription "Junior Prom 1924." The central feature on both the door mat and the pennant are the letters "OAC" for Oregon Agricultural College.

Douglas and Mabel McKay Papers, 2014

This addition to the Douglas and Mabel McKay Papers is made up of a copy of the book "I Baked a Cake for Ike and Mamie: A Memoir of Douglas and Mabel McKay-Letters from Washington D.C." In this book, Eileen Hadley Givens, one of the children of the McKays' daughter Shirley Hadley, draws upon letters by Mabel McKay to describe the McKays' lives in Washington D.C. while Douglas served as the Secretary of the Interior for President Eisenhower from 1953 to 1956. Among the stories of their experiences in the Capitol, there is a particular emphasis in the the book in detailing interactions between the McKays and the Eisenhowers. Highlights include stories of the dinner party hosted by the McKays for the Eisenhowers (among others) and Mabel's presentation of her legendary angel food cake to Mamie for her birthday. Various travels and events that were part of Douglas' Secretarial duties are also described. Givens also devotes a few chapters in the book to family history with background on the McKays' lineage (the Hill, McKay, Musgrove, and Souvignier families) and that of their children Shirley and Mary Lou (the Hadley and Green families).

This accession is made up of article reprints published in various journals reflecting research conducted by faculty in the Department of Environmental and Molecular Toxicology (EMT). Many of these studies were written prior to the formation of EMT in 1998 by faculty associated with the Food Science and Technology Department, the Marine Freshwater Biomedical Center, and the Agricultural Chemistry Department. Among the topics addressed in these articles include: the cancer chemoprevention effects of chlorophyllin in rainbow trout, the zebrafish as a model for toxicologic pathology research, the impact of dietary exposure to indole-3-carbinol, studies in mammalian flavin-containing monooxygenases, and hepatocarcinogenesis induced by aflatoxin B1.

Sea Grant College Program Photographs (P 185), 1953-2000

This accession is made up of photographic images generated and collected by Sea Grant and Extension Service staff for use in publications, presentations, exhibits, and the documentation of programs. Numbering about 6330 images in total (5600 slides, 400 prints, 330 negatives), these photographs were taken by various OSU staff, including: John Faudskar, Jim Larison, Tom Gentle, Bill Wick, J. Hyde, and Rick Miller. About one-third of the images in this transfer were cataloged and individually numbered as part of an organized library. A complete inventory of these slides, which were removed from three-ring notebooks and placed into folders, is in box 1. In addition to portrait shots of Sea Grant staff, these images depict hatchery operations, oyster farming, seabirds, coastal areas during the 1995/96 flooding, clamming, the "Oyster Fest" community event, longline aquaculture, Native Americans fishing in the Columbia Gorge, tours/workshops, OSU fish research laboratories, the Totem research buoy, facilities at the Port of Portland, and jetties along the Oregon coast. There are also 11 cassette tapes that were found with these photographs. Five of these tapes are part of slide presentations while six are possibly recordings of interviews, meetings, or presentations. Their connection to the images is unclear.

Of primary interest are materials comprising seven oral history interviews conducted in support of the project. Interview participants included: Carol (Lindbloom) Hamlin, Chuck Wenstrom, Janet (Aune) Essig, Ken Noteboom, Mary Ann (Backen) Hogan, and Sharon (Ransom) Reid.

The paper materials are made up of newspaper clippings, correspondence, a blank scorecard for an undated wrestling meet, and photocopied correspondence, newspaper and magazine articles, and calendar pages from 1959-1960. The accession also includes signed paper permissions forms completed by oral history subjects interviewed for Backen's project.

The born digital materials include nine audio interview files (.wav and .m4a formats) with six interview subjects as well as interview transcripts (.doc format) created by Backen. A .pdf copy of Backen's final paper as well as a compiled .pdf of documents scanned in support of Backen's research is also included.

Miracle (Milagro) Theatre Group Collection, 1984-2012

This accession consists of materials generated by the Miracle (Milagro) Theatre Group (MTG) that document the various performances staged by MTG, outreach programs, management of the theatre building, board administration, fundraising, publicity, and relations between the MTG and the artists. In addition to production files assembled in the planning of performances that are made up of programs, flyers, correspondence, staging notes, and artist bios, this transfer also includes agreements, bylaws, cds, certificates of incorporation, contracts, meeting minutes, newsletters, photographs, posters, press releases, thank-you letters, and VHS videotapes. Comprised of several thousand prints, negatives, and slides, the photographs depict performances, actor head shots, MTG staff, fundraising events, outreach programs, and workshops at schools. There are also digital images on cd. About one-third of this collection is made up of audiovisual media that contain recordings of performances by MTG as well as sound effects for scenes and advertisements. The audiovisual formats include cds, dvds, cassette tapes, mini-DV tapes, digital video tapes, VHS videotapes, diskettes, and reel-toreel tape.

Albert D. Taylor Collection, 1947-1949

Taylor Collection is made up of three copies of a report authored by the landscape architect Taylor on a proposed redevelopment plan of Florida Capitol Center complex in Tallahassee, Florida. In addition to Taylor's personal copy of the finished report, this transfer also contains the "dummy" copy with the original photographs and typed text as well as the page proof version. All three copies contain handwritten notations by Taylor.

In addition to publicizing particular beers, the posters also include information on brewery tours, beer release schedules, arcade gaming events sponsored by the brewery, company employees, and a visual presentation of the brewing process.

William Budd Matlock Papers, 1934-1976

This accession consists of materials generated and collected by alumnus William Budd Matlock that reflect his student experience, work as an engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers, and military service during World War II. In addition to photographs, this transfer also includes certificates, dance cards, diplomas, employment records, military records, newspaper clippings, notes, patches, publications, and student papers. Matlock's lifetime association with the military, from ROTC involvement in college to retirement from the Whidbey Island Naval Station, is documented throughout this collection. Materials reflecting Matlock's World War II service include a handwritten list of his wartime assignments, a publication for Gis stationed in the Philippines, and printed sketches by a combat artist of the war torn Philippines. Numbering 133 photographs in total (79 prints and 54 negatives), the images depict Matlock's experience at summer ROTC camps, work on a stream gaging project as a student, construction at Bonneville Dam, Matlock in the Philippines during World War II, and the Moses Lake (Wa.) area where he worked on an airfield construction project. There are also portrait shots of Matlock at graduation and in ROTC military dress. Other OSC alumni featured in these images include Frank Marks, Larry Metcalf, and Shirley Stage.

This accession consists of materials generated and collected by the OSU Environmental Remote Sensory Applications Laboratory (ERSAL) that document various research projects conducted with remote sensing technologies such as the Landsat digital imaging program. In addition to reports and photographs reflecting studies by ERSAL staff, this transfer is also made up of article reprints, brochures, a grant proposal, handbooks, newsletters, notes, a poster, and research data. The research is mostly focused upon the inventory of vegetation cover throughout Oregon for ecological assessment analysis. Used extensively for land use planning, these studies examine a number of elements in the landscape, including: elk habitat, old growth forests, wetlands, forest fire rehabilitation, and the presence of tansy ragwort. Information about the computer software programs developed to analyze the Landsat data can also be found in this transfer. Numbering about 2684 photographs in total (2232 slides, 150 prints, and 302 negatives), the images depict study sites from the ground level and satellite Landsat views. There are also slide presentations on research through remote sensing technologies and images of ERSAL staff using equipment. The poster is a map of Oregon comprised of Landsat images patched together into a single image. This poster was printed for sale to the public.

This accession consists of materials documenting the career of musician Obo Addy and the organization he founded with his wife, the Homowo African Arts and Culture organization. This collection is arranged into three subgroups: 1. Obo Addy Specific, 2. Homowo African Arts and Cultural Materials, and 3. Media.

Subgroup one is made up of lesson plans, course descriptions, event programs, photographs, press releases, and other materials reflecting Addy's instructional work at Portland-area schools and colleges. Addy's early career, tours, and various collaborative projects are also documented in this subgroup.

Subgroup two pertains to the management of the Homowo African Arts and Cultural organization and documents the group's planning of the annual Homowo Festival, publicity, day/summer camp programs, grant activity, and board of director meetings.

Subgroup three contains recordings of performances by Addy and his musical groups on various media. This subgroup is comprised of both sound and moving image formats such as VHS videotape, cassette tape, cd, DVD, and professional format studio reel-toreel tape. This subgroup also contains photographs.

These files primarily reflect Campbell's work on environmental issues and include letters to elected officials, his editorials to newspapers, notes from conferences, and minutes from organizations such as "Save Our Stratosphere." In addition to historical information about OSU housing compiled by UHDS for a guide, these materials pertain to the UHDS diversity action plan, the College Inn renovation, the dedication of Carrie Halsell Hall, an internal/external department review, and family housing on campus.The two photo albums document activities by the Family Housing Association and problems at the Orchard Court housing complex as presented by tenant manager Norman Howell. The scrapbooks contain information on single-family residential houses managed by UHDS and community activism among residents of the Orchard Court married student housing area. Numbering 280 photographs in total (107 prints and 173 negatives), the images document the removal of older private residences from campus property in 1999 and 2000. There are also shots of one of these older houses being burned for practice by the Fire Department. The cd contains digital images (184) depicting the 2005 NWACUHO (Northwest Association College and University Housing Officers) conference held at OSU. The poster is a composite of photos depicting the student decorated doors at Weatherford Hall. The vinyl disc sound recording documents the 1964 Interfraternity Sing performance.

About half of this collection, which includes the guestbook, scrapbook, videotape, and greeting cards, reflect events and notes of congratulations on Trow's promotion to Vice President and her retirement. The two professional organizations reflected in these papers are NAWDAC (National Association of Women's Deans, Administrators, and Counselors) and NASPA (National Association of Student Personnel Administrators). The thesis is Trow's doctorate in education from Michigan State University "Residence Halls Goals and Objectives: Perceptions of Students and Staff."

Crop Science Club Records, 1969-1991

This accession consists of materials generated and collected by the Crop Science Club that is made up of annual review forms, certificate blanks, correspondence, financial records, flyers, meeting minutes, newsletters, newspaper clippings, notebooks, and photographs. Primarily documenting the organization and publicity of various events by the club including field trips, picnics, Dad's Weekend activities, corn sales, athletic contests with Crop Science faculty, and regular club meetings, these records also reflect the sale of seed identification sets assembled by the club as an ongoing fundraising project. These identification sets, also referred to as "seed mounts," were comprised of crop and weed seed samples that were mostly purchased by school districts. The two notebooks contain entries about a club field trip to California and sales of seed identification sets. In addition to portrait shots of Crop and Soil Science alumni, the 58 photographs (54 prints and 4 negatives) depict seed identification sets and club activities.

Among the subjects reflected in these records include: cereal variety testing research, seminars organized by the department, instruction, computer programs, Hyslop Field Research Lab, and the Oregon Cereal Crops Systems Initiative. About one-third of this transfer is made up of annual reports documenting the STEEP (Solutions To Environmental and Economic Problems) Program. These reports contain work plans and progress reports relating to cooperative erosion research projects throughout Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. Comprised of course reading packets, overhead transparencies, exam blanks, and "seed key" handouts with information on various crop and weed species, the course materials reflect the following classes: Cereal Crop Production (CSS 321) and Applied Principles of Crop Production (CSS 301-302). Numbering 113 images in total (53 prints and 60 slides), the photographs consist of a slide presentation on good grain management and images of various germinated seedlings demonstrating examples of normal and abnormal growth.
